iLiners
Even if I was still in New York I would not be lining up days in advance for the new iPhone. Sorry, but I just don’t get it. It may be a brand new gadget, but do you really need to queue for days to spend $500-600 on one?
And it’s only the first version, so there are bound to be glitches and there’s already a rumor that a superior version is being released in Europe next week with better internet.
It makes me laugh that people have called in sick to work so they can wait outside the Apple store on Fifth Avenue. Don’t they realise they’ll be on TV? Still, one person impressed me; the savvy guy who is charging $5000 for his spot near the front of the line. If he gets that money, it’s a pretty good day’s work.
Truth be told, I’m much more excited about the seventh Harry Potter book going on sale in a few weeks. Won’t queue, though. Will pre-order.
