5 Life Lessons From Posh Spice
The other night I was drawn to the television, where Posh Spice’s one-hour TV special ‘Coming to America’ was airing. The show has been critically savaged by most media, but I learned a few things.
(Posh Spice lowdown: Former Spice Girl and wife of football/soccer star and model David Beckham. He’s so cute, if only he’d keep his mouth shut. They have just moved to LA and are worth a combined $250 million.)
1. Wear heels and giant sunglasses at all times.
It doesn’t matter if you’re lounging by the pool or tossing a pitch.
Why: 1. “I really find heels lengthen.” 2. Part of her image and brand.
2. Surround yourself with less attractive people.
Sounds harsh, but this is exactly what she says and does.
Why: Helps with her image (and marriage?). See above.
3. Use a blow-up doll as a decoy when it all gets too much.
When she wanted to buy David a gift in peace, Posh created a paparazzi decoy.
Why: Sometimes you just need a break.
4. Know when to stop.
Sexed-up magazine photo shoots, interviews, TV specials… it’s Peckham Overload.
Why: Poor wee Victoria has tipped the scale and is being mercilessly ripped into by UK and US media.
5. Go easy on the surgery
Posh had lunch with some old crones.
Why: They looked like something out of Nip/Tuck Extreme Survivor.
