I wouldn’t try video blogging because I prefer to remain anonymous. Maybe I would set up a personal blog with video blogging. However, I’m still a PC character….

i would definitely try the video blogging at some point. take shoemoney for instance… it just has to be spun the right way so that people will want to watch it. and as long as you know what you’re talking about, you’re all good. the biggest benefits are 1. longer per-visitor time spent on your site, and 2. it could create a viral buzz. go for it! hey, maybe we could create video blog reviews…first blogger does video 1, next blogger does video 2, etc. that could be pretty crazy! lol just a thought that crossed my mind…

Rhys, if I do a video post there will definitely be multiple takes. Chewbacca! Hahaha. God knows what people would think of my accent. Might need subtitles.

Maybe we should have a Video Blogging Day where everyone who wants to can have a go.

That was a cracking post that, though I did get a hell of a lot of stick from my mates when I posted it. Oh well, the traffic was worth it.

Incidentally, that was my 8th time in trying, without looking like a total idiot. It was a hand held camera, and my arm hurt towards the end.

I appeared in a video blog for Han too, she said her readers thought I sounded like chewbacca!

Minx, I made one video that I posted to YouTube a while back to mixed reviews. I’m loathe to “produce” (if you can call it that) another one for all of the con reasons you listed above.

Video blogging... well you are requiring that someone listen to you for a fixed amount of time so that they can get the whole message that you are giving them, unlike a written post where they might be able to scan and pick up the info that they are really concerned with. I think that the time investment is worth the more personal feel that may attract more viewers/readers. When trying to make your blog your business it is best to keep readers coming back wanting more. I'm looking into a conference about making money with blogging. Have you heard of PostieCon? Seems like a cool opportunity to meet these famous bloggers face to face.
