Your Long-Distance (Blogging) Relationship

One of the beauties of blogging is that geography can be immaterial. I will read your blog even if you live thousands of kilometres (or miles, or stone throws etc) away; even if you complain about the winter while I bask in summer; even if you write with a funny accent; even if we never meet.

Which is kind of weird, when you think about it too much, which I don’t.  But what are the advantages of being in a (blogging) relationship with someone far away?

1. Personal hygiene doesn’t matter.
You could go weeks without washing, and I’d never complain.

2. It’s free.
We don’t need to spend hours  on expensive long-distance calls, or spend thousands on plane tickets for quick get togethers.

3. Low expectations.
When the chemistry ends we can simply stop reading each other’s blogs – no tears over a candlelit dinner, no listening to breakup songs, no rabbit scene from Fatal Attraction.

4.  Our families need never meet.
So it doesn’t matter if your surname’s Montague and mine is Capulet. Star-crossed? More like bandwidth-crossed!

5.  Monogamy is not encouraged.
Well, who wants only one reader?
